A Big Puddle of Hope

I came upon this quote on Jen Lemen's site

We plan our lives according to a dream that came to us in our childhood, and we find that life alters our plans. And yet, at the end, from a rare height, we also see that our dream was our fate. It’s just that providence had other ideas as to how we would get there. Destiny plans a different route, or turns the dream around, as if it were a riddle, and fulfills the dream in ways we couldn’t have expected.

And I remember how growing up I wanted to be a fashion designer. I studied and read fashion mags, learned all about current designers and believed that was where I was headed. Then I hit college, said oh to go into apparel, I have to live in NYC or Milan. I do not want to do that so I need a different major. (Why did I think those were my choices?) And so I went into photography only to then switch into graphic design. And now eleven years later I am a feltmaker creating my own scarves and wraps. And I know slowly the path is leading path to clothing with feltmaking. So reading this quote is perfect. It is so true.

I just keep believing in my dream. It is happening. And I am grateful. And scared. And happy. And tired.
